Robert Biale Vineyards Royal Punishers Napa Valley Petite Sirah 2015

$47.99

new release                                                       One of Napa Valley's finest Petite Sirah producers with another awesome wine. Limited. 91 Points Wine Spectator:  Deep and brooding, with layered and persistent blackberry, orange zest and licorice flavors that finish with snappy tannins. Drink now through 2020." Robert Biale has become one of California's preeminent producers not only of Zinfandel, but also of Petite Sirah. The 2015 Royal Punishers has an intense deep, dark blue/black color profile. Aromas of plum, quince, violets, figs, molasses, caramel and marbled rye awaken the nose. The entry is soft and weighty, then builds into a broad mid palate structure which has layers of ripe, black fruit flavors. The tannins are mouthwatering and medium grained which hold the fruit profile and carry a long, lingering finish.

My favorite grape. Rich, warm and fuzzy. This one is silky smooth. Plum with a hint of tobacco. Enjoyed at Deacon's New South.

Dark dark fruit. Not as complex as a cabernet but good alternative.

As always a super nice petit sirah from Biale. It would pair better with a meal than on its own. I'm thinking the tater tots with sausage gravy from Biale's Premiere breakfast would be a perfect match!

Massive inky black and blue fruits along with spice and a touch of cocoa. So good, if you like big cabs, give this a try.
