Roar Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2016

$45

ROAR makes some of the best and hardest to get new Pinot Noirs in California.  90 Points Robert Parker: "Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands is scented of red currants and black cherries with a spicy background of cloves and cinnamon stick, plus a hint of garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with juicy red berry and baking spice flavors, marked by soft tannins and oodles of acid freshness, finishing long." Roar is owned by Gary & Rosella Franscioni, who planted and own the famed Rosella's Vineyard, Gary's Vineyard and Pisoni Vineyard in California's Central Coast.

Excellent fruit acid and finish. Half bottle and perfect with grilled Rabbitt.

Sarsaparilla, tart cherry, cedar, caramel, minerals and spice. Incredibly interesting, this wine lacks only long acid for a truly classic pinot.
