Limited new release from legendary winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. 94 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate emerges from the best four blocks on the property, where the soil is a bit rockier. The combination of Clone 7 Cabernet and the location, on the northern side of St. Helena right across the street from Vineyard 29, yields a rich, sumptuous Cabernet built on pure texture and volume. Blue and black fruit, smoke, spices and menthol meld into the creamy, layered finish. This is a very strong showing from Revana and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown." 94 points Wine Spectator: "A classy effort, rich, refined, pure and elegant, offering tiers of blackberry, wild berry, floral and spice aromas, supported by spicy, cedary oak and fine-grained tannins. Ends with a burst of mocha and black licorice. Drink now through 2028."

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing age much. Fruity nose with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, figs, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, earth, cedar, spices, vanilla, licorice, raisins, leather and black pepper. Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, cola, coffee, cedar, chocolates, peppercorn, earth, leather, vanilla, licorice and spices. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This is a gorgeous Napa Cabernet from a great vintage. Showing great complexity and a great mouthfeel. This 9 year old is drinking very nicely now. Well balanced, tasty and delicious. Smooth and rich. I had the 2013 a few months ago, and I liked this vintage even better. Will age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Still has a lot to offer. Thank you Kim and Barry for sharing this with me. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (1 hour). I used the Vspin to save some time. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 96 points $150.
