Reuling Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2011

$69.99

New tiny-production Pinot release from the vineyard made famous by Aubert.92 points Wine Enthusiast:  "Joseph Swan and Araujo alum Matt Taylor made this wine with grapes from outside of Forestville, in the cooler southwestern part of the valley. It’s a sumptuous Pinot Noir with a depth of raspberry, cherry, cola and mocha flavors, and earthier notes of mushrooms and oak for added complexity. Fine acidity and smooth tannins make it great to drink now and over the next 2–3 years." Tasting Notes:  "The 2011 vintage was relatively light in style for much of Sonoma County, however the favorable location and microclimate of the Reuling Vineyard enabled our Pinot Noir to develop impressive density and beautiful aromatics. Harvest took place on September 30th, prior to Fall rains, and a 12-day native yeast fermentation followed. The resulting wine has aromatics of exotic spice, blue and black fruits as well as a gentle minerality. On the palate this wine has incredible balance. It possesses a soft entry coupled with balanced acidity and has a lush, broad mid-palate with a lingering smooth finish." - Reuling Vineyards

Still a baby, but fairly open after working with it for a day. Delicious and it shows how good this vineyard is going to be going forward.
