Red Car Cuvee 22 Sonoma County Syrah 2007
This is one of our favorite small-production Syrah discoveries this year! Red Car is a small winery located in the Santa Barbara wine country that should be on everyone's short-list of wineries to watch. The lush tastes of wild Maine blueberries, Ranier cherries, licorice and Kona coffee are balanced and refined. The percentage of new oak has been lowered, too, allowing the mouthfeel to be linear yet silky. Scents of crushed peppercorn, fresh grass, and clove come off the nose with a hint of orange rind. Elegance has spoken.

In a great place. Dark fruits, smoked meat and a hint of mint on the palate. Tannins have integrated fairly well and everything is in balance. May be rated too low.
