Ramey Wine Cellars Woolsey Road Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

$69.99

97 Points - limited release                          A great new Chardonnay release from Ramey. Limited. 96 Points Wine Enthusiast: "From a site in the heart of the appellation farmed by the Martinelli family, this wine is sparkling in acidity and crisp well-defined flavors of lemon rind and green apple. It explodes in apple blossom and jasmine aromas, with lovely balanced richness and body weight, the oak lending a layering of baking spice." 95 Points Robert Parker:  "The 2016 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is whole-cluster pressed, fermented in barrel with bâtonnage and aged 19 months in 20% new French oak. Scented of apricot, lemon, almonds and honey toast, it has a core of melon and baked Golden Delicious apple with pretty floral perfume. Medium to full-bodied, notes of orange blossom and lemon segue into tangy Greek yogurt with nutty nuances and a touch of honeycomb. It's juicy in the mouth with lively acidity and a very long, savory finish with beautiful phenolic texture. 761 cases produced, to be released in October 2019. Drink: 2019-2029."

When a honeybee kisses a kumquat flower, you have Ramey’s exquisite Chardonnay. A bargain at any price. Enjoy my friends.

Apple, lemon candy, honey, oak, dried apricot and a hint of salinity. Great acidity and balance.

Really, really tasty. Second Chardonnay back to back. Loads of tangy yogurt at first, as this wine bursts with acidity, but that’s not the whole story by a long shot. Granny Smith Apple, Danish pastry, ripe pineapple all meld together wonderfully - the finish is looooooong.
