Ramey Wine Cellars Annum Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

$94.99

Another stunning Ramey Cabernet -  Very Limited. 96 Points Robert Parker:  "From a vineyard in the Oakville Corridor, just below Dalla Valle, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum (950 cases) is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc. It boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious aromas of licorice, smoked meats, camphor, graphite and oodles of crème de cassis and coffee beans. Full-bodied with sweet tannin and a dramatic, ostentatious personality, it should drink well for 15-20 years... ...David Ramey, who is one of the veterans of high-quality winemaking on California’s North Coast, worked in France and at some of the top Napa wineries (Rudd and Dominus) before settling in Healdsburg in Sonoma Valley. He continues to make Chardonnay in a Burgundian style with full malolactic fermentation, and now produces four single-vineyard Chardonnays as well as two generic efforts from the Russian River and Sonoma Coast."

Man o man! This is what mid range cab can and should be. Wayyyy better than Caymus and Silver Oak. If you can find it, this will rock your world. Definitely in my top 10 cabs I've ever tried. A-mazing. Soft gentle tannins, subtle fruit, and a long distinct finish. A well made wine in every aspect. If you are going to spend around a hundred on a Cabernet this is your huckleberry.

Big fruit and sweet tannins. Decanted this 2012 for four hours. Impressive for a young wine

2012 vintage. Mainly Oakville (82,5%), with 14% Mount Veeder, 2% St. Helena and 1,5% Rutherford. 76% Cabernet sauvignon and 24% Cabernet franc. Impressive, very expressive nose with red and black fruits intertwined with flowers. Layers of bright fruit, great balance, terrific complexity and very long finish. Another fantastic wine from a great producer. 2012 vintage. Abv. 14,5%. 99 euro.
