Great new small-production Pinot Noir from hot producer Radio-Coteau - get the new release before the scores come out.Spanish for “fog,” la neblina rolls in from the Pacific Ocean to blanket and cool the coastal Pinot Noir vineyards of western Sonoma County. The core component of the 2011 La Neblina was derived from the Hallberg Ranch, just up the road from the winery. This vintage offers additional vineyard sources, most notably from a coastal site on a ridge above the town of Occidental. Sheep are helping to facilitate an organic farming transition by eliminating the need for in–vine–row chemical weed control. 93 Points Robert Parker: "A strikingly pure and broad-ranging nose of essence of kirsch, cinnamon, clove, anise and floral notes gives way to delicious, intense and equally pure middle weight flavors that possess terrific underlying tension that gives lift to the superbly complex and wonderfully persistent finish. This built-to-age effort is stunningly good."

Radio Coteau - La Neblina - Pinot Noir - light Body and well balance - Aromas/Flavors: Floral and dry berries - Full of spices on the palate, the nose made me feel that I was in the middle of a bazar in Delhi.

Revisiting the wine we had when we got engaged. Sonoma Coast in a cool year = acid bomb!

I liked this but prefer burgundy. A little harsh/tannic? For pinot, but strong fruit, high acid, wet volcanic rock/fireworks. $50.
