Pride Mountain Vineyards Vintner Select Cuvee Sonoma County Merlot 2017

$76

New Cabernet release from legendary Pride Mountain Winery.  A classic example of Spring Mountain Cabernet. 53% Napa/47% Sonoma. Limited. 92 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "More blackcurrant, cassis, tobacco, and damp earth notes emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, another medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant wine in the lineup. With wonderful purity of fruit and a seamless, sumptuous style on the palate, give bottles a year or so and it's going to drink nicely for 10-15 years." Connoisseurs Guide: "Blue/black fruit notes ranging from plum to blackberry and mulberry are enhanced by complex notes of mint, brown sugar, freshly cut cedar and subtle truffle. The texture is rich and balanced, with an unctuousness in the mouth, balanced acidity and silky tannins throughout the middle and finish of the wine." Robert Parker: "Pride Mountain Winery is a beautiful estate, which sits on the top of Spring Mountain straddling both the Napa and Sonoma County lines, continues to turn out a super-impressive lineup of wines."

Good. At first was acidic but improved. Aftertaste slightly acidic. But tasted better and better.
