Thomas Brown Cab - 95 Points New limited-release Cabernet from winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Limited. 95 Points Robert Parker: "For a wine of this quality, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Post Parade is a fabulous bargain by Napa Valley standards. There are 430 cases of this wine, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 90% new French oak (50% of which was Taransaud and 40% Ermitage). Coming from the Tench Vineyard, an Oakville vineyard made famous by Russell Bevan, this wine has an opaque purple color and a glorious nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with charcoal, camphor, a touch of toast and plenty of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit. It is full-bodied and displays terrific intensity and purity as well as velvety tannins. This heady, multi-layered wine is already drinking beautifully but should continue to do so for another 15+ years." After visiting Napa countless of times, three friends from Kentucky decided that it was time to make their own label. Enlisting the help of Frank and Kathy Dotzler (Outpost), and the most acclaimed winemaker in Napa today, Thomas Brown (Schrader, etc), they got everything they needed to make a killer bottle of wine. Post Parade is sourced from the Red Head Vineyard in Napa and the Tench Vineyard in Oakville. Thomas says that the Red Head vineyard gives structure, while the Tench Vineyard provides generosity, and we agree. Big, lush, and velvety smooth valley floor fruit mingles perfectly with the sweet tannic structure of Red Head’s hillside fruit.

I know it is not possible to have all these be as brilliant as I am saying but it is still delicious from the last time I tried - TRB made and 100% cab - Napa at its best

Beautiful wine from TRB. One of the more integrated wines tonight but still a beast. Similar notes to last time. 93

Deep purplish ruby red. Tons of layers and complexity on the nose with notes of blackberries, cassis, black currants, spices, violets, cinnamon and a touch of dark cocoa. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) with solid structure and full bodied. Earthy texture on the palate and the layers of cinnamon, dark fruits, spices and cassis. Very dry and long finish. Drink till 2030.

What a deal what a deal what a deal - I will put this napa cab up against wines twice it's price - 2 hour decant and it's sings - Taste is incredible fruit - dark blue and red fruit - highly structured tannins with density and complexity galore - smell works but it will get more aromatic in 2-3 years - If drinking now as I did then please decant This comes from Tench vineyards - same as the acclaimed bevan - well I say drink this at half the price then you tell me the difference This is big bold beautiful and I am smiling

Just tried their Stretch Drive earlier this week. Easily to see why this is their flagship bottling. Dark purplish ruby red. Tons of sweet/baking spices on the nose with some anise, black fruits and toasty oak influence. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Very rich and extracted with tons of complexity. Layers of dark cocoa, vanilla, blackberries, blueberries, and dark gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drinking very well right now with around an hour or two decant. Drink till 2030.

What a great surprise! Can’t remember where I read about this, could have been Delectable! It was great! Medium purple color. Complex nose with cherry, tobacco, and some lovely floral elements. Wine was deep and had character. Cherry fruit with a texture that was pleasing and unique. Medium finish. I’ll buy more if I can find it.
