Rare "Reserve" Brut Champagne from legendary producer Pol Roger. 92 Points Decanter: "One of the great signatures of the region, its calligraphy flowing with elegance, panache and balance, the last reflected in the equal proportions of the three great varieties of Champagne. A flamboyant straw gold lustre, and an immediately seductive nose, encyclopaedic in its indulgence. Nougat, praline, white pepper, spice and nectarine were first to the page for this taster, but there is much more behind that, the sugar discrete yet edifying, the long yeast ageing responsible for a happy and altogether luminous marriage of power and finesse. Consistently excellent. 92 Points James Suckling: "A layered and complex Champagne with pie crust, lemon peel, dried apple, pineapple tart and subtle spice notes. Sleek bubbles. Creamy and delicious. Drink now." 92 Points Robert Parker: "The current release of Pol Roger's NV Brut Réserve is quite dramatic, bursting with aromas of mandarin oil, honeycomb, elderflower, fresh bread and musky peach. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's generous and textural, with a rich core of fruit, lively acids and a pillowy mousse." 91 Points Wine Enthusiast: "The nonvintage Champagne from Pol Roger always has richness from the Pinot Noir in the blend. This bottling also has a touch of toast, showing some bottle aging. Put the two elements together and this satisfyingly ripe wine is ready to drink."

It has been sometime since I have had this white label. Nice pair with Apple Tart from the Adorable French Bakery. The nose is; bruised apple, touch of apple cider, yellow bruised pear, lime zest, lemon juice, orange citrus with zest, tropical melons, white cream froth, brioche, white spring flowers. The palate is fresh, ripe, juicy; bruised apple, touch of apple cider, yellow bruised pear, lime zest, lemon juice & tropical melons. Gingerale, caramel notes, honeycomb, understated white spice, sea fossils & spray, white cream, delicate chalkiness, limestone marl, almond slivers, field of white, spring flowers with both lilies, crisp, fresh, lively acidity and nicely made, well balanced finish that lasts 90 seconds.

Still one of the few family owned Champagne houses, Est 1849! Pale gold with a fine aromatic richness, aromas of stoned fruits such as white vineyard peach, warm biscuits and nutty notes, fine mousse and bubble flow. On the palate flavors of ripe fruits, apricot and pear with notes of citrus, oven biscuits and vanilla. Long finish ending with fruit, yeasty notes and chalky mineral character. Very nice!

Very nice crisp champagne with peach and white flower tones. Perfectly balanced with enough acidity for a fresh and savory treat.
