New release if the original Pisoni Pinot Noir - Limited previous vintage 96+ points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pisoni family's Estate Pinot Noir is one of the top handful of Pinot Noirs coming out of California today, and certainly, the site is one of the Grand Cru vineyards in California. From the warmer, southern end of the Santa Lucia Highlands and granite soils, the Pinot Noir Estate offers up a sensational array of blackberries, blueberries, violets, crushed rocks and smoke. Full-bodied, concentrated, surprisingly firm and tight, it has gorgeous extract, plenty of tannin and a blockbuster finish. This is a serious and age-worthy 2013 from the Pisoni Family that needs 2-3 years of bottle age, but will keep for 10-15 years. ... ...This benchmark estate in the Santa Lucia Highlands is run by the Pisoni family, with Mark Pisoni managing the vineyards and Jeff Pisoni making the wines. While they only release a single estate Pinot Noir under the Pisoni label (always 100% from the Pisoni Vineyard), they also release a number of highly recommended Pinots and Syrahs (from different vineyards) under their Lucia line."

Time is of the essence! I drank this sometime ago and got none of the funk and Burgundian element. Clove, oil and anise fill the nose. Raspberry, toasted oak with some tart cherry fill the mouth. A lot going on in this wine, nimble and light but offers so many element.

Nice expression of the SLH. Big on the nose, gamey element, cardamon and cinnamon. Bright acidity on the front of the palate balanced by firm tannins. Almost meaty yet smooth. Fleshy ripe finish. Nice.

Tazmanian Pinot! Wow! Similar to Willamette valley, but a little smoker than what I am used to from that region. Nice hints of sea salt and roses, kelp and it's just amaze balls!

Black cherry, wild raspberry dominate profile...finish shorter than expected for Pisoni Estate...after 2 hours still did not have the rich fullness we have so enjoyed from Pisoni

Very good. Probably too young, but will definitely get better with time.

Earthy on the nose, more sour fruit forward on the palette.
