This is just beautiful, an earthy, graphite-laden, crème de cassis-scented wine with plenty of depth, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long, opulent finish. This is a beauty, and really over-delivers for a generic Napa cuvée. Surprisingly, this was my first Paul Hobbs experience. I know the Roy Estate was WOTN, but based on overall value, this may take the cake. Not as age worthy as the Roy, but this is straight up velvet right now. Dark in the glass, slow legs, and an absolute treat to enjoy.

Very wrongful but very necessary pairing. Paul Hobbs Napa Cab with “on the fly” turkey avocado sandwich. Intense ruby color with cocoa, oak, tabaco, dark fruit, cassis and leather on the nose. The pallet is full bodied and dry with medium high tannings, medium acidity and high alcohol. It feels like simple elegance: naked fruit with only the basic oak cloak, and a hint of dark chocolate to accentuate it all. What can I say? This is drinking, necessarily, on point.

Enjoying this while picking out Rainbow play systems swing sets. And my wife says my wine is expensive... So good. Well balanced, great fruit, great nose. This is my second bottle. First was 6 months ago. Wish I’d have taken better notes both times! Stay healthy my friends.
