One of Napa Valley's best Cabernets while it's available!94 Points Robert Parker: "The Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon is another gorgeous, totally striking wine laced with dark fruit, licorice, mint, new leather and sweet spices. It has quite a bit more tannin than the 2009. The 2010 is a gorgeous, brooding wine, but it will require further time to fully come together. Still, even at this early stage, it is shaping up to be magnificent. This is a very serious wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021."

Lots of baking spices and smoked fruit aromas. Palate is also coated with dark berries and baking spices. A ton of improvement with air (was left open over night). Great moderate tannins (7/10) and med plus bodied. Some slight vegetal notes in the long finish. Drier than expected. Drink till 2026.

APPEARANCE Clear, medium intensity ruby color, sediment more apparent (but not intrusive) in the final 2 glasses of wine. NOSE Clean, with medium+ aroma intensity of cherry, mocha, cola, licorice, and cassis with a developing nose PALATE Dry, medium acidity, medium+ tannin and body, and high alcohol, with pronounced flavor intensity of graphite, cassis, bing cherry, black raspberry, and mocha, this was a complex, and layered wine with deep flavor intensity and a long finish. CONCLUSIONS Very good quality, this is "par for the course" with Paul's wines as he acheives a high flavor intensity while still managing depth and freshness, Ready to drink now, but can benefit from 5-10 years more aging

2010. Ridiculously good, and enfuriating when it ends

Winning wine at auctions is fun. One of the latest acquisitions. This tasted as expected. Great.

Big tannins. Black and blue fruits, some tobacco. Lovely wine, very enjoyable. Oh and let's not forget lavender. Yum!
