A true second label, CrossBarn is culled from the same vineyards as Hobbs’ estate wine. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged twenty months in French and American oak barrels, the Crossbarn 2013 Cabernet is bottled both unfined and unfiltered. Awesome juice from a winemaking paragon. previous vintage 91 Points Robert Parker: "The Cabernet Sauvignon Crossbarn is a gorgeous, fruit-driven wine bursting with dark red fruit, new leather, spices and licorice. Expressive aromatics are woven throughout in this beautifully delineated, entry-level Cabernet. The final blend includes 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Hobbs uses a touch of American oak for this Crossbarn label. The main vineyards are State Lane and Mast, both in Yountville"

It’s time to get my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice one from Napa Valley. Dark purple in color with a purplish rim. Fruity nose of black plums, black currants, coffee, oak, cedar, leather, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, peppercorn and pencil lead. Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs. Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, tobacco leaf, espresso, cola, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn. Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries. This Napa Cabernet is very enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Spicy and rich. Needs a couple of hours to open up and show the tannins, but tasty right out of the bottle. Robert Parker 91 points. Wine Enthusiasts 87 Points. This 5 year old is drinking very nicely now and will get better in the next 5 years. I sipped on it all by itself. Delicious. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $50.

Deep ruby, with pronounced aromas of cassis, violet, blackberry - this is classic Napa Cab. Ripe tannins, good acidity, great length and very satisfying

PnP. Purplish in color. Nose has oak and dark fruit, with subtle graphite and herbs. Plums and chocolate along with alcohol dominate the palate. Medium depth and finish. Unique and solid, and probably needs a decant to tone down the OH.
