Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2014

$44.99

New Pinot release from Patz & Hall! This beautiful wine blends a selection of fruit from small, family owned vineyard sites from Sonoma Coast, Green Valley, Sonoma Valley and Russian River Valley . Some of Sonoma's most distinguished viticulturists and vineyard owners provide fruit for this complex blend, including the Dutton Brothers, the Martinelli family, Charlie Chenoweth and Steve Hill. Reflecting its Sonoma Coast origins and the long, cool growing season, the Patz & Hall Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir captures a more elegantly Burgundian expression of Pinot Noir. In the bouquet, this cool-climate charm takes the form of bright, fresh and flirtatious cherry and strawberry flavors. These fetching aromas are echoed on the palate, where complex layers of mulled cherries, strawberries and raspberries intermingle with spicy cinnamon and clove elements.

Tasted along side the 2015 Patz & Hall Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir and 2013 Durant and Booth Pinot Noir. Mix of garnet and ruby red. Integrated nose with smoky and savory notes with a touch of dark fruits. High acidity (7/10) and fine tannins. Dark berries on the palate and a touch savory. Cherry cola notes on day two. Medium body and medium plus finish with a touch of minerality. Nicely approachable and drinking well right now. Drink till 2021.

Smooth, some tannins, ruby red, hints of red fruit. Went well with aged cheese and smoked fish

Got it for $23 at Greens. Normally much more expensive. Really enjoyed.

Our table of four ordered a fish, chicken, pork, and steak dish. One wine to compliment them all!! Even better, the wine was on the house due to working out kinks during the Troutbeck restaurant soft opening.

Ripe red fruits with slight tannins at the end but big classic Sonoma Pinot Noir. Lacking terroir but makes up for it with delicious berries and decent balance.
