New release - Patz & Hall's top-of-the line Pinot from the legendary Hyde Vineyard. 94 Points Robert Parker: "Showing fabulously well, the Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard is a nearly 1,000-case cuvee with a deep ruby color, a big, sweet kiss of raspberries, black cherries and forest floor as well as a floral note. Its beautiful texture, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning purity, length and richness make for a superb Pinot Noir to drink over the next 5-6 years."

Great balance between extraction level and acidity, it's great out the gate and could get even better

Dark Ruby, with gentle aromas of red fruits layered with floral spice. On the palate cherry and cranberry intermingle with spices, herbs, cacao and coffee notes. Fine grained tannins were noted, well balanced on the long, mineral finish. Very Nice!

A bit tight. Give some more time to mature and express itself.

It’s a shame they don’t make wines like this any more

Recently tasted 2 Hyde Park Pinot's side by side one from Paul Hobbs (2014) and this one from Patz and Hall, founded in 1988 by Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz, and produces hand-crafted wines. Both wines were tremendous, Patz is a better value. Dark Ruby, with aromas of rich berry fruits layered with cedar and spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry with oak, spice, cacao and coffee notes. Fine grained tannins were noted, well balanced on the long, mineral finish. Very Nice!

Strong, flavorful Pinot. On the robust side for a Pinot Noir, tart berry notes with a bit of licorice in the finish. Very nice, unique wine.

Favorite California Pinot Noir. Gorgeously long & elegant finish rounds out a richly robust and nicely acidic dark berry beginning. The light minerality sets this apart from similarly great French burgundies (possessing a bit more earthiness & stone).
