A delicious red blend one one of Washington State's most innovative wineries. The primary source for this intense and lovely wine is Dr. Steve Elerding's vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills, where the proximity of the Columbia River is a vital part of the success of these traditional Rhone varietals. This wine is very dark with ripe stone fruit flavors, pepper and an excellent texture. The blend is 62% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 3% Mourvedre.

2013 vintage Purple-red, slight butter and veg note in nose, round mouthfeel, cherry, mint, barrel-smoke and blackberry in finish with slight astringency on back of tongue. Tasty, needs time to open.

Grenache loaded, juicy red and blueberry fruit, perfumed and attractive nose, palate follows the nose but lacks complexity. It is well made and clean, with a good level of acidity to balance the fruit weight but for the money I was hoping for a bit more substance and structure.
