Superstar winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has completely bowled us over with the Outpost Howell Mountain Zinfandel, bursting as it is from the glass with aromas of lemon thyme, blueberry, fig newtons, dried blueberries, black cherry, all lilting above a palate with thrilling concentration. Red plums, sandalwood, spice, and hints of iron give way to a medium-bodied, balanced, concentrated Zinfandel that has ripe tannins and a layered, balanced, already hard-to-resist style. 94 Points Robert Parker: "From vines planted in 1999 and 2010, Outpost's Zinfandel delivers classic briary, blackberry notes but also those blueberry nuances that seem somehow connected with Howell Mountain.
