O'Connor Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2013

$29.99

Small-production gem                             A fantastic tiny-production Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley that rivals the best in California.  Only 315 cases produced. After purchasing the property in 1990, the O'Connors decided to give new life to the aging apple orchard, recruiting local vineyard guru and grower Warren Dutton to help put in the vineyards. In 1995, Chardonnay vines were planted over five acres, and in 1996, Pinot Noir (clones 115, Pommard, and 777) was planted over the remaining three and a half.  Since their first saleable crop, the grapes have been sought after by many fine wineries. Since 2005, the O'Connors have produced the Pinot Noir themselves under a family label, O'Connor Vineyard.

Ripe berries with very smooth, peppery goodness. Light oak. Excellent wine from a small batch producer in green valley part of RRV.
