The new Oakville Winery 2013 Cabernet is produced by the same folks who make the cult Ghost Block Cabernet. Hurry! 94 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This ageworthy Cab merits comparison with some of its far more expensive Oakville neighbors. Dry and balanced, with ultrarefined tannins, it shows complex flavors of creme de cassis, minerals and cedar. Just beautiful. Noteworthy for listing all its ingredients on the back label. Drink now through 2020."

Inky black in the glass. On the nose blueberry, blackberry, tobacco, toast, lots of barrel character. The pallet follows the nose with plum, cassis, blackberry, and dark chocolate. The finish is long with lots of toast and vanilla.

Organically grown. I don't get much fruit here. At least lacking middle. Toasted oak and spice from oak.

Good wine lighter bodied for a cab but maybe that is from not being over oaked

Pnp, right in its drinking window. Black cherry, plum, and a touch of licorice. Wonderful right now!

Age has done this wine well. All the rough edges have smoothed out and the wine is much more balanced.

Smoothing out with some aging and the blueberry flavors are calming down. Still a bit off and disjointed. But enjoyable still, just at a $60 plus there are other options.

Opulent nose. Good tannic structure on the palette. Very well made, but needs a little more time to relax a little more. Wifey tasted notes of cucumber, which I agree with. I can't believe that the fruit was under-ripe, so I assume these notes are created by the wood treatment. I probably under-clubbed my rating.

Good but better options at $50 price point. Blueberries dominate the palate. A bit of blackberry, currants, and oak.
