baby Ghost Block! The new Oakville Winery 2021 Estate Cabernet is produced by the same folks who make the cult Ghost Block Cabernet. Hurry! 94 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This ageworthy Cab merits comparison with some of its far more expensive Oakville neighbors. Dry and balanced, with ultrarefined tannins, it shows complex flavors of creme de cassis, minerals and cedar. Just beautiful. Noteworthy for listing all its ingredients on the back label. Drink now through 2029." In 1877 the Oakville Winery became the 9th bonded winery in California, and today, this same winery is the home of our Napa Wine Company, where our family makes all of our organically-grown wines. We are proud to be the only single-digit bonded winery still in existence in California, and our Oakville Winery wines pay homage to this history and heritage. Under the direction of Winemaker Lynn Watanabe, the impeccably-made Oakville Winery Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel are sourced primarily from our Pelissa Vineyard directly behind our winery in the heart of the acclaimed Oakville AVA.

Oakville Winery Napa Valley Red Wine 2021, California It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Purple in color with a short purplish rim. Fruity nose with blue and black fruits, cedar and licorice. Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with nice complexity. Showing black cherries, currants, black plums, light cedar, earth, spices, dark chocolates and peppercorn. Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries. This 3-year-old, Cabernet sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley, is still very young, but already drinking very nicely. Fruit forward and elegant. At this point, the Malbec seems to overpower the rest of the grapes. Tangy and spicy. Needs 3 years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years. This Single Vineyard needed 5 hours to open up, so be patient. A good quality wine that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 14% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels. A small production of less than 500 cases. 14.1% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $50.
