Ranch is a beautiful Cabernet from Rutherford 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 96 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The Cabernet Sauvignon C.C. Ranch is a classic Rutherford Cabernet with knock-out aromatics, deep fruit and fabulous balance. Cedar, tobacco, menthol, red cherry, chocolate and espresso are all finely knit in a wine that balances elegance with power to grand effect. Even with all of its intensity, the 2017 remains vibrant, fresh and full of energy." 94 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a savory, textured wine from a ranch off the Silverado Trail in the heart of the appellation. It sings in cedar, dried herb and sage, with an inviting, earthy nose. The grippy palate develops to show smooth integration of tannin and oak, with a lasting note of tobacco leaf on the finish." C.C. Ranch is planted in Rutherford, along the slope of a knoll west of the Silverado Trail. The vineyard grows classic Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon on well-drained, gravelly loam soil and receives a variety of exposures, depending on the block and location. The vines are well balanced and the canopy is opened up to give good light exposure. Nickel & Nickel produces wine from 15 select acres of this 115-acre vineyard.

A gift from a special brother-in-law enjoyed with our last dinner of 2021. Very dark in the glass releasing smoked mango notes when nosed. A sip suggests cocoa-dusted dark cherries in velvet. It goes down easy but finish is long and lingering warm and pleasant. I really enjoyed this bottle of wine!
