Neal Family Cabernet is one of our favorite small-production Cabs from Napa Valley. Highly recommended. Our 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our Howell Mountain Estate and Rutherford Dust Estate vineyards. This vibrant, expressive wine has exemplary fresh fruit characteristics and follows through with classic cassis, mint, and earthy notes. Dried & fresh herbs are complemented with barrel spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and licorice. A traditional Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Neal Family Cabernet Sauvignon is a vibrant, expressive wine has exemplary fresh fruit characteristics and follows through with classic cassis, mint, and earthy notes. Opened sometime prior service; enjoy over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a deep garnet/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart black fruits: blackberries, currants, plum, mixed flowers, tobacco, some Rutherford dust and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Solid. Drink now through 2041.

2021 vintage. Old-school styled, Napa cabbage. The solitary nod to new-school is the medium-heavy body. Focused, dark fruit presence (not as much as Freemark Abbey but not far behind either). Plenty of value to be had here. Grip if you want it. Fruit if you so desire. Obvious balance. Nicely done. First Neal product visit/tasting but it won’t be the last. 1.24.24.
