Sweet Mother of Mercy. This wine is incredible. Full bodied and luscious, with blueberries and plums dominating.

Big hitter. Definitely a mouthful, but there's something hedonistically enjoyable about this. Possibly pairs well with chocolate ice cream.

When I was putting my girls through university, I had some awfully tough cash flow scenarios. During those days, this was what I cuddled up to. It seems more restrained now, which some would consider an oxymoron in this context. The nose resembles Dylan's Candy Store in NY. The palette has echoes of Caymus 25th anni wine. It's lithe and gloriously fruity. At 15.5% abv, I could be taken advantage of at this point. Super value. Don't hate the player...

Often find this producer's wines more interesting to taste than to sip, this this one was lovely when paired with a cold wonter's night! Massive BBQ spices and savory meat scents.

Fun stuff. Still a heavyweight, but has maybe dropped to light-heavyweight. Chewy and mouth-staining. Acridly sweet, but somehow pulls it off. No food required alongside this.

Good but I’ve had this before and was thinking it was better previously. And why no cork? I like and want a cork for a $50 bottle.

If there’s a better $30 red, I haven’t had it.

The word that comes to mind when drinking this wine is POWER! Big blueberry/blackberry/plum fruit with hints of chocolate, coffee and licorice. Mint and dried spices on the finish. Even though it’s a full bodied powerhouse (15.5% alcohol) it is still elegant and well structured. The tannins are amazingly soft and the wine has wonderful depth. Great effort!
