Why "wild" ? The grapes for the Miner Wild Yeast Chardonnay are fermented using only indigenous yeast cultures found on the skins of the grapes themselves, in the vineyards and within the walls of the winery. Gracefully sailing through full malolactic, the wine retains its vital acidity along with incredible freshness and richness. Aromas of vanilla and pear are followed by effusive ripe fruit flavors and subtle toastiness on the palate. Citrus and caramel notes add to the intrigue of this smooth, supple and unabashedly sexy chardonnay. Very limited - Only 1,000 cases produced. previous vintage 95 Points Connoisseur's Guide: "Miner Wild Yeast Chardonnay has complex notes of ripe apples, creme brulee, toasted bread and savory spices are combined in the deeply framed, rich aromas of this full-bodied, mouthfilling and well-balanced wine. It follows on the palate with ripe and wide-ranging flavors and has both the range and depth to be a great mealtime choice to accompany well-seasoned roasted chicken served with fancy reduction sauce or for the fleshy fishes with fusion-influened sauces. It does not need long aging but is certain to reward a few years of patient cellaring."

Love wild yeast Chardonnay, even when they're butter bombs like this.

Enjoyed this on Monday at Wine & Roses in Lodi. One of the most awesome Chardonnay's I have had this year. Wonderful & delicious. I must buy a few bottles to own.
