Whole clusters add striking aromatic top notes redolent of dried flowers, mint and herbs. In the glass, the Estate is gracious and light on its feet. Silky tannins add to a feeling of understatement and finesse. The 2018 is such a terrific example of how compelling Syrah can in the Sta. Rita Hills." 92 Points Robert Parker: "The 2018 Syrah Estate has a medium ruby color and bright, lifted scents of cracked pepper and mint with touches of olive and tar and a core of fresh blue and black fruits. The palate is concentrated, layered, fresh and lifted with a ripe, grainy frame and long finish." ...Hold onto your hats, as these latest releases from Chad Melville and winemaker Greg Brewer are off-the-charts good! While both of the Chardonnays are beautiful, and play in the clean, crisp and medium-bodied spectrum, it’s the Pinot Noirs and Syrahs that are incredible across the board."

Just how I like my Syrah. Zesty and peppery up front but leading to a more savory core of olives, violets, and wild brambly fruit. 40% whole cluster in neutral oak. Very complex with something to appreciate no matter your preferred style of the grape.
