Meiomi Monterey County Pinot Noir 2018

$23.99

Meiomi Pinot Noir Sonome Coast is a delicious blend from their cool Sonoma Coast vineyards.  A very rich & complex, fruit-forward stye Pinot that would go as well with steak as it would salmon dishes.  One of the best $20 California Pinots we've tasted. previous vintage 92 Points Wine Spectator "Smart Buy": "Dark and rich, showing toasty mocha oak flavors, with a beam of wild berry, raspberry, cola, vanilla and spice. Long on the finish. Drink now through 2020." Meiomi (May-OH-mee) means "Coast" in the language of the native Wappo Indian tribe who traditionally occupied a mountainous area of northern California, including the Russian River and part of Napa Valley, symbolizing the origin of this Pinot Noir.

Strawberry, raspberry and jammy fruit, intertwined with mushroom and forest floor on the palette. Decent Pinot for the price.

Aroma of red raspberries. Big berries upfront then a dry dry quick finish. A lught fruity summer red.

As promised I have revisited this wine and particular vintage. Seven months later it has further improved. Yes, it is somewhat sweeter and “weightier” than a lot of Pinots. I enjoyed it. It paired well with the grass-fed ribeye we had it with. The is a good value and fairly flexible wine.

Earth. Smoke. Spice and currant nose. Ripe black fruit. Blackberry, raspberry. Liquorice. Dry and pretty smooth. Almost a hint of sweetness at the end on your palate. Medium bold for a Pinot. Nice wine.

On the dry side, with minimal tannins. Fruity, sour, and jammy with an earthy finish. Very drinkable and easy.

Very good. Not too sweet, not too dry, not to thin, oak finish. Best pinot I've had in awhile.
