94 Points Pound for Pound from McPrice Meyers is a fantastic buy in Zinfandel. Highly recommended. 94 Points Robert Parker: "The Zinfandel Pound for Pound has a deep ruby color and aromas of wild berry fruit and accents of rooibos tea, wildflowers, apricot, tar and underbrush. Medium-bodied, it floods the mouth with spicy fruit and floral streaks. It is grainy and very refreshing, with a long, detailed finish. Lovely! All that juicy fruit is ideal for barbecue and spicy dishes." From the winery: "You may have heard that Zinfandel is my favorite wine to just drink and enjoy. Zin is the best bang for your buck here in Paso Robles, which is why I call ours Pound for Pound. Stack it up against other wines at the same price point and the Zinfandel wins just about every time!" The fruit was destemmed, 3-5-day cold soak, followed by pump-overs and punch-downs 3 times a day during fermentation. Pressed into 3rd fill and neutral French and American oak barrels, puncheons, and concrete tanks. Aged 10 months.
