94 points - last call An awesome new Grenache from a boutique producer at the forefront of the Central Coast winemaking scene - only a few hundred cases were produced so try it while its still available! 91 Points Robert Parker: "Blended with 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, the 2013 Grenache l'Ange Rouge comes from Santa Barbara County sites and is an elegant, medium to full-bodied wine that offers classy notes of kirsch, blackberries, baking spice and dried flowers. Fermented with 60% whole clusters and aged 16 months in mostly neutral oak, drink this polished and sweetly fruited red over the coming 5-6 years... ...I always love the wines from McPrice Myers, and these latest releases are no exception. McPrice likes plenty of whole cluster, and his 2013s all have a firm edge to the tannin, so give bottles a few years in the cellar. It's also worth pointing out the incorporation of McPrice's Barrel 27 label into his McPrice Myers wines." 90 Points Wine Spectator: "A ripe and generous style that maintains a structured backbone, with baked cherry and pepper aromas and sleek flavors of jammy raspberry, toasted spice and licorice. Drink now through 2027. 244 cases made."
