Rare Mayacamas 2010 Caberent now available. A great release from this legendary Napa estate perched high atop Mount Veeder. Owner/winemaker Bob Travers’ final vintage as former Screaming Eagle winemaker Andy Erickson takes over. Limited. High on the slopes of Mount Veeder, Mayacamas Vineyards has been a source of legendary California wine since 1889. Since the 1950ʼs the vinification and élevage of Mayacamas remains remarkably consistent and our continued commitment to employ classical techniques and tools is integral to the character of these wines. The mountain terroir at Mayacamas ranges from 1,800 to 2,400 feet in elevation and the estate spans 475 acres, only 50 of which are dedicated to vine. The regionʼs richly intense, age-worthy wines reflect the independent spirit of its mountain growers and vintners, borne of rugged conditions that demand craftsmanship at the highest level. 95+ Points Antion Galloni (Vinous): "Graphite, smoke, licorice, game, savory herbs and a host of inky blue/blackish stone fruits make an appearance in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautifully layered and intense, the 2010 offers a compelling interplay of finesse and power. Still, my sense is that the 2010 is holding back much of its potential. Readers need to be patient, but the 2010 is shaping up to be a gem."
