$54.99

New release                                                                                                   Limited release of Mail Road's Santa Rita Hill Chardonnay. Winemaker Matt Dees (Jonata, The Hilt) is crafting some of the area's best wines. Limited, 92 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the two Pinot Noirs from Mail Road Wines, both of which are from the Mt. Carmel Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, the 2020 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills reveals a vivid ruby hue as well as a bright, juicy, medium-bodied style in its ripe raspberry and cranberry fruits interwoven with sappy underbrush and chalky mineral-like nuances. It's balanced and has an elegant, streamlined texture as well as good length." Mount Carmel Vineyard is the exclusive purveyor to Mail Road Wines.  Mount Carmel Vineyard is located on a steep, south-facing cliff, north of the Santa Ynez River. Established in 1990 by Ron and Nancy Piazza, the vineyard is planted to a variety of own-rooted, organically and principally dry farmed, heritage Pinot Noir and Chardonnay clones. The vineyard is at 800 to 1000 feet elevation, with botella clay, limestone, diatomaceous earth, calcerous deposits and sandy loam soils.
