MacPhail is one of our favorite Pinot Noir discoveries of the year. A great small producer any Pinot lover should check out now. Highly recommended. 93 Points Robert Parker: "One of the darkest colored Pinot Noirs from MacPhail Family is the 2012 Pinot Noir Sundawg Ridge, which saw 43% new French oak and spent 11 months in wood. Its clonal material is Pommard, Calera and Dijon clone 115. Another stunning Pinot from MacPhail, it exhibits a deep ruby color, a big, sweet kiss of red and blackcurrants, black cherries, earth, spice and background bouquet garni and roasted meats. Chewy, fleshy, succulent and opulent, this French-styled Pinot Noir should last for 5-6 years. Drink 2015-2021

Sour cherries with a smooth finish... There’s some earthiness to it too... A great Pinot!

Quintessential Cellar Angels feature from famed PN producer James MacPhail. James has one hundred 90+ point wines since 2004 and this is an example why. Brilliant raspberry and cherry off Sun Dawg Ridge, great acidity with just impeccable balance. I would easily pit this against several others at 2x the price.

Very dark ruby color. Big, fleshy style with cherry, raspberry, cloves, and cigar box. A bit heavy on the oak for my taste.
