Limited new Pinot Noir from Pisoni Vineyards Lucia label. 94 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming mostly from the Pisoni Vineyard, with the balance Garys and Soberanes, the Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir offers terrific depth and concentration, with loads of black cherry, black raspberry, spring flower and forest floor aromas and flavors. Brought up in 50% new barrels, it’s a serious appellation blend that has real depth and length, and overdelivers in spades. Drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years. There’s 410 cases made." This estate is managed by the Pisoni Family, and high quality and realistic prices are the name of the game here. Year in, year out, these wines over-deliver.

Nice cherry and cherry blossom perfume, wet raspberry, fresh cranberry. Slight alcohol heat on the nose, not terribly distracting. Luckily out of split (375ml) so advanced aging is working for us. Another very nice afternoon Friday bottle (Pisoni) with a great friend.
