Lucia Vineyards (Pisoni) Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

$59.99

Rare Gary's Vineyard Pinot Noir now available from Lucia.  94 Points Robert Parker:  "Showing darker fruit, as well as additional minerality, the 2011 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard is rich and mouth-filling on the palate. Layered, nicely balanced and textured, it’s a beautiful effort and will evolve gracefully through 2021. Drink 2015-2021...This estate is managed by the Pisoni Family, and high quality and realistic prices are the name of the game here. Year in, year out, these wines over-deliver. While 2011 was an extremely cool, long season, these wines have beautiful ripeness as well as clean, pure aromas and flavors.

Raise your hand if you buy a Pinot when you see the words Garys' Vineyard. Mine is in the air! Especially when it accompanies the word Roar or Lucia. Of course Pisoni and Franscioni are going to keep the best fruit for themselves. The 2011 is superb. Fresh and lively nose full of red cherries and violets. Light to medium bodied with crushed red berries and lingering finish.

Nice med fruit, great aromatics. Little bit of heat. Good bottling for those who dig a riper style. Light med tannin. Good job Jeff

Subtle aromatics, tertiary color changes. Very nice for a 2011, although past it’s prime. Cork almost totally crumbled with the use of a corkscrew.

Just a terrific offering from the Pisonis at Lucia. Fantastic depth of flavor and great balance, this wine would benefit from another year or two in the cellar but is really impressive right now.

A deep ruby, the '11 Lucia Pinot Noir 'Garys' Vineyards' is generously perfumed with black cherry, licorice, rose petal and baking spice scents. The expansive palate is flavored with oaky notes of dark chocolate and cherry-cola. Nice lingering finish with a good balance of spicy acid and sweet ripe tannins.
