Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

$99.99

New release!                        New Cabernet release from one of Napa Valley's finest producers, Lewis Cellars. This Cabernet was Wine Spectator's #1 Wine in the World in 2016! previous vintage 94 Points Wine Spectator:  "A creamy textured charmer, infused with mocha and dark berry flavors and offering density and complexity, this builds on tiers of jazzy oak, polished currant and blackberry. Ends with rounded tannins that let the flavors glide on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2030." The 2016 ranks among our best bottlings of Napa Cabernet. Enticing, deep-fruited aromas of black currant, berry and chocolate are stippled with cedar, clove and cinnamon oak spices. The palate centers on opulent core fruit that swirls around a defined structure of supple tannins. With complex undertones of truffle, black pepper and briar, this interplay finally winds down to a long chocolaty finish..

I love Lewis Cab. Sweet eucalyptus and berries on the nose. Deep rich black fruit with structured tannins and black pepper on the finish. Medium plus acidity on this young pup. Built for quite a few more years.

I am a fan of Lewis Cab. This performed quite as expected. While still young, the black and red fruit was vibrant. A little spice and maybe some licorice on the Back of the throat. Medium plus acidity and nice finish.

One of the most approachable Cabs I’ve had lately. So velvety and plush with luscious black & blue fruits, clove, mint, oak, vanilla, and espresso. Beautiful wine.

Black raspberries dominate the palate. Integrated tannins for such a young boy. Medium acidity will lend to cellaring for a decade or more. Punch in the face Napa cab. Delicious

‘16 and I know it’s young, but Honestly a little disappointed. Wanted to try their entry level cab before springing for a reserve. Maybe not their best effort? $100

A bomb. Big, heavy, high alcohol (15.5%) Cab. Beautiful nose, but just a little too big and viscous for my taste. Almost getting into Port territory. This is one to drink by the fireplace.

Still one of my favorite Napa cabs. It is way too young, like a power keg fruit bomb. Still delicious.

This is really going to be good. Give it some time. Good nose and already has a nice finish.
