Leonetti Cellar Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

$119.99

96+ Points - limited                             Leonetti makes one of Washington State's best Cabernets. Limited. 96+ Points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the base  Cabernet Sauvignon. This will stand up to any Bordeaux blend coming out of Washington today. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, it offers a medium to full-bodied, incredibly seamless, balanced style carrying lots of cassis and darker currant fruit as well as notes of tobacco, bouquet garni, graphite, and scorched earth. It closes down relatively quickly with air and is a serious, structured, yet incredibly promising Cabernet. Hide bottles for 5-6 years and enjoy over the following two decades." 96 points James Suckling:  "Yum. The Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon shows intense blackberries, blueberries and spice. Medium-to full-bodied and spicy. Cedar and smoked almonds, too. The tannins are firm and chewy, yet polished. A blend of 86% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, 5% malbec and 1% petit verdot. Needs a year or three to soften. Drink or hold."

Drinking at a great place. Leonetti is always such a textural pleasure.

Definitely young but quite accessible with an hour of air. Delish Washington fruit, silky tannin.
