93 Points WS A fantastic new Cabernet-based blend from Laird. A must-try. Tasting Notes: "This Laird 2019 Jillian's Blend is a bodacious blend thats boasts a beautiful blushed red color followed by an alluring nose of tamarind, wood fire toasted marshmallow, marionberries and fresh ground espresso. The balanced palate showcases bright fruit qualities highlighted by plum, mountain blueberries and juniper. The tannic structure of the wine lingers on your palate and leaves lasting notes of cigar box and unsweetened cocoa. Structured enough to be laid down but elegant enough to be enjoyed. Drink 2024 through 2032. 92 Points James Suckling: "Currants and dried berries with fresh flowers and spices. Medium to full body with round, juicy fruit and ripe, firm tannins. 62% cabernet sauvignon, 20% syrah, 12% merlot, 5% malbec and 1% petit verdot. Needs time to come together. Drink after 2025." Laird Famil has been proudly growing grapes in Napa Valley for two generations; this unique fusion of four varietals honors the third generation in our farming family, our daughter Jillian. Jillian's Blend, a Left Bank Bordeaux-style blend with a twist of Rhone is structured and easy to drink.

2019 vintage. This blend is (from memory so don't quote me) 63% Cab Sauv. 18% Syrah, 12% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. The 2018 was great bang for the buck at $15 a btl resto cost. Slightly less richness in the frontal palate than the 2018 but it is an apples/oranges situation. 2019 vintage up a dollar to a whopping $16 btl cost. Drinking really well and couldn't really ask for more for a Napa red blend. Great large party wine and cheap enuff to cancel out overpriced, Napa red blends juice guilt. Ordered 3 cases. 10.8.25.
