Laird Family Estate Jillian's Blend Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

$49.99

93 Points WS                        A fantastic new Cabernet-based blend from Laird.  A must-try. Tasting Notes:  "This Laird 2018 Jillian's Blend is a bodacious blend thats boasts a beautiful blushed red color followed by an alluring nose of tamarind, wood fire toasted marshmallow, marionberries and fresh ground espresso. The balanced palate showcases bright fruit qualities highlighted by plum, mountain blueberries and juniper. The tannic structure of the wine lingers on your palate and leaves lasting notes of cigar box and unsweetened cocoa. Structured enough to be laid down but elegant enough to be enjoyed. Drink 2024 through 2032. 93 Points Wine Spectator: "On the slightly rugged, old-school style of the spectrum, with a core of steeped red and black currant fruit backed by a burly structure and notes of chestnut, sage and bay leaf. Shows singed cedar and alder notes that thread up the finish, with nice latent energy. For fans of the gutsy style. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Best from 2024 through 2036. 2,380 cases made." Laird Famil has been proudly growing grapes in Napa Valley for two generations; this unique fusion of four varietals honors the third generation in our farming family, our daughter Jillian. Jillian's Blend, a Left Bank Bordeaux-style blend with a twist of Rhone is structured and easy to drink.

2018 vintage. Drinks like a Napa cab but blend is 62% cab, 20% syrah, 12% merlot, 5% malbec and 1% pv. Light-medium body with good length of finish and enough stuffing to tickle the palate’s nooks and crannies. Excellent QPR. Didn’t hurt that it’s a 2018 and there’s a helluva deal. 6.19.24.
