One of our favorite Syrahs made in California - new vintage now available but hurry - only 560 cases made. 94 Points Robert Parker: "The Syrah is not for the faint of heart! A wine of serious power and richness, the 2010 hits the palate with black olives, grilled herbs, scorched earth and savory herbs, all supported by huge, explosive tannins. This structured, mountain Syrah will require some patience, but it is super-impressive, even at this embryonic stage. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025...I was completely thrilled with the two wines I tasted from Lagier Meredith this year."

Having a glass of this while I prepare Rajat Parr’s braised lamb shanks (garlic and Indian spices). This is going to pair perfectly! The florals and spices are so pretty! Smooth, ripe raspberries, black plum, with a great finish.

Dark violet in the glass with a purple rim. Mesmerizing nose of pepper upfront with delicious herbs and spices come to play. This is not all about the fruit. Perfectly structured with great balance, the tannins are firm and the acid so bright. On the palate, there's all sorts of earthy funk going on. Mushrooms, black olives, slightly burnt coffee, wet gravel, and grilled beef. The fruit does come into play after some air with blackberries, blueberries, and a touch of strawberry. The finish is long and exquisite with a bit of sweetness and menthol. Absolutely varietally correct, this baby still has several years left to blossom.
