La Sirena Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

La Sirena's Cabernet Sauvignon is an stunning Napa Cab composed by world renowned winemaker Heidi Barrett, whom Robert Parker has called, “The First Lady of Wine”.  The 2021 La Sirena Cab is very dark berry in color. Deep ripe fruit aromas of blackberry, currants, dark plums, along with accents of French Oak toastiness and caramel are beautiful and inviting. Very rich and lush across the mouthfilling profile. Flavors mirror the aromas showing off perfect berry ripeness and the excellent growing season that year. A compact, low-yield vintage produced wines of great concentration and age-worthiness. This is a wine of great finesse and balance - silky, elegant, and expressive, Cab Sauv at its best. A beauty to enjoy for many years to come! Founded in 1994 by esteemed Napa winemaker Heidi Barret, La Sirena focuses on Italian grape varietals growing in Calistoga. Initially, Heidi was helping make the wine for a custom crush client who later abandoned the project and was going to sell to the bulk market. Upon realizing that the wine was of higher quality than anticipated, Heidi purchased it and began bottling it under a name of the famous Mexican Lotteria card game. La Sirena translates to mermaid in both Italian and Spanish, and is based on Heidi’s love for the water as well as her passion for scuba diving. The fruit comes mainly from Calistoga, but for several vintages the grapes were sourced from Central California. They are fermented very slowly in stainless steel tanks, and are often released only a couple of months after bottling. The wines are recognized for their unique blue bottles and production size is kept around a humble 300 cases.
