Limited new Pinot from Kosta Browne. 94 Points Robert Parker: "I believe a new vineyard, the 2012 Pinot Noir Giusti Vineyard, shares some similarities to the the Koplen Vineyard, with its intense, focused style. Showing plenty of plum, licorice, toasted spices (cinnamon) and hints of vanilla bean, this beauty flows onto the palate with no hard edges, beautiful mid-palate density and a focused, lengthy feel on the finish. Nothing is out of place here, and it's a rock-star bottle of wine that can be consumed anytime over the coming 4-6 years.

Seems a cut above and more distinguished than most of the other KB offerings. I get the distinct cherry cola note that I’m used to with Kosta Brown but there’s some real nuance here too. Very rich but absolutely no heat and markedly silky and penetrating. Could still use some time in the bottle to be sure but in a nice spot now.

Sipping Fine Wine
Had the pleasure of recently tasting 8 Kosta Browne wines. Here is another, Wow! Dark Ruby with ripe fruit aromas, rich with pepper spice notes. On the palate cherry, blackberry and sweet red plums, cinnamon notes, aged for 16 months on French oak (40% new), lively acidity on structured frame of fine tannins. Lingering finish ending with flint and mineral tones. Keep this in the cellar for a few more years. Tasting Sample.

My first taste of single vineyard '13 Kosta Browne. A little closed off initially, opened up beautifully in 2nd hour. I'll wait about 1.5 years to open another, but this is still presenting quite impressively out of the gate

Nez de fruits noirs, un peu de bois au nez comme en bouche mais pas très dérangeant, belle acidité, un peu de richesse, des tannins fondus et de texture fort agréable, clairement Americain à l’aveugle mais délicieux. 91-92 Dark fruit, a touch of wood but nothing too much, good acidity to go with the nice silky tannins, a bit of richness but not without some finesse, very good.
