94+ points Extremely limited Kosta Browne single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Gap's Crown. 92 Points Antonio Galloni: "Ruby-red. Intense, spice-accented cherry and dark berry aromas are complemented by notes of woodsmoke and licorice. Highly perfumed on the palate, which offers sweet red fruit and floral pastille flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Closes smooth and long, with resonating spiciness and subtle, well-knit tannins. ...Winemaker Nico Cueva continues to fine tune his approach at Kosta Browne, experimenting with new vinification and aging vessels. While the wines were richer and more upfront in the past, today, they have slightly more freshness and tension while not abandoning the beautiful fruit and texture that defines California wines. As I hope these notes show, these are distinctive, singular wines up there with the crème de la crème of the region."

The Crown Gap has never been my favorite from them. Still solid. Aldo, needs 3-4 more years in bottle. 91+ with that kind of age. The Truffle Mac & Cheese was a big hit with the crowd, I’m allergic to mushrooms. At Pebble Beach Food & Wine 2025

Our monthly 4th Friday event at the storage facility. No requirements, just wine you want to share with others! Always an enjoyable time. Gap's crown may be my favorite vineyard for Pinot. The fruit that comes out of here is so powerful and in your face. KB is able to get a bit of restraint out of this, but it can't fully tame it. This is a wild beast. Blackberries. Nutmeg. Birchwood. Solid backbone. Serious pedigree can be tasted throughout!

Not the extracted fruit bomb I would expect. 2011 forced a leaner wine for many and this is a prime example. Lot of great acidity and flavors of bright cherry with a long smooth finish.
