Kistler Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2014

$89.99

Very Limited Kistler Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.  92 Points Antionio Galoni (Vinous): "Kistler's 2014 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a striking appellation-level wine. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, game, smoke, and licorice add aromatic underpinning. Delicate, supple and quite pretty, the Sonoma Coast Pinot hits all the right notes. Sweet floral and spice notes add lift through the pliant, open-knit finish. There is so much to like."

Good. Better in two years. Feels like it has some dusty tannins. Dry to ripe fruits of slightly tart & sour; dark cherries, black berries, black raspberries, dry cranberries, plum & creamy raspberries. Limestone/sandstone, dark spice with some heat, clove, nutmeg, understated cinnamon & vanillin, tree bark w/ sap, herbaceousness, with bright, brilliant; dark, red, purple & some blue florals. Really nice acidity. The finish needs two plus years to be all it can be. Still a bit astringent on the long set. I am not buying in at retail but, at $50-$55 on the secondary market, I’m all in.

Beautiful appellation level Pinot Noir from Kistler. Bright cherries dusted in clove with dried tobacco, garden herbs, and rose petals. Lovely acidic pop and suave mouthfeel.

We had this on 5/3-4/18. A real good example of the Sonoma Coast AVA. Tastes of pomegranate, orange peel, cinnamon and spice. A well balanced, medium bodied wine.
