Kapcsándy Family Winery Endre State Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

$79.99

New release from up-and-coming cult winery Kapcsandy.  Limited. previous vintage 94 Points Robert Parker:  "The less expensive Endre (53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc aged in both French and Hungarian oak) is very Bordeaux like. Notes of bouquet garni, red and black currants and loamy soil are present in this medium-bodied wine that seems to be a faster evolving effort than its siblings. With excellent texture as well as an elegant style, and I use that word in a positive sense, it should drink well for 10-15 years."

The start of the weekend, Friday is here and I have been looking forward to opening this 2012 Endre Kapcsándy Family Winery State Line Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend. 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. On the nose is a very expressive black cherry, blueberry, plum, black currant, vanilla, mocha, menthol and tobacco. On the palate is suculant juicy fruit of black cherry, black raspberry, black plum, black currant, bell pepper, leather, juicy licorice and an earthy essence. This wine is full bodied soft, smooth and rounded in the mouth with medium + acidity and medium + gripping tannins that leads to a long fruit driven finish. A nice start to the weekend and wishing you all a safe enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia!

@David L thank you for sharing this with Jennifer and I. So refined and elegant! Wonderful balanced, lush, weaving dark berry, graphite and blackberry...silky and supple tannins. Finish shows dusty and loamy soils. Jennifer loves it David! Tell Kristen thank you from us please.

Just okay. Not much to it.

Not terrible and no obvious flaws, but not interesting either. Kind of thin, with very little structure. More like a cheap Zinfandel than a Bordeaux-style blend.

Nice. Red fruited. Perhaps a bit of VA, but still very enjoyable.
