Jax Vineyards Y3 Taureau Napa Valley Red Blend 2015

$22

One of the best buys in California Red wine we've discovered! 90 Points Robert Parker: "Composed of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 5% Zinfandel, the 2015 Proprietary Red Blend Y3 Taureau is a deep purple-black color with a warm plums, mulberries and black cherries-scented nose with hints of spice box, cloves and aniseed plus a waft of thyme. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated on the firm palate, it shows lovely vivacity and freshness on the long finish." The name "Taureau" was the name of the Jackson family’s prized bull, legendary for his feisty, high-kicking and vibrant personality. When perfecting this wine at their blending session, the JAX team concurred that the complex personality of their infamous bull reflected the complex structure and elements of this indulgent red blend... and what a perfect tribute to their family ranching legend. Reflecting the dominating character of Taureau, this wine boasts incredible purple fruit colors, flavors of blackberry, black cherry and red on the palate, and all supported by polished tannins. Balanced and delicious, this wine should drink well until 2022. "Your food should be so lucky to be paired with Taureau.   50% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Syrah

I am enjoying it and yet its a little too warm and slightly too chewy and sweet. Smooth and easy, perhaps too easy. #napa #bordeauxblend

Very fruit forward with and hints of red licorice. Nice for watching Twin Peaks finale.

Really solid merlot forward blend. Great ~$20 drinking wine. Should definitely get again.

This is a movie night wine. There are notes of cherries, cigar box and some spices on the nose. Little bit more red fruit than black fruit on the palate. Bit of campfire to me as well. Sort of a medium finish. Like I said hanging around the house and want a decent glass of wine this will fit the bill. Enjoy.
