Jax Vineyards Y3 Napa Valley Chardonnay 2014

$20

We're always on the lookout for fantastic Napa Chardonnays that sell for a song, and the Jax Y3 Chardonnay is one of the best we've found.  Highly recommended.Robert Parker: "An outstanding value is the Chardonnay Y3, which offers copious tropical fruit, orange blossom, and nectarine scents and flavors along with fresh acids and an endearing purity as well as texture. A sleeper of the vintage, it should drink nicely for several years." Sourced from Atlas Peak and Oak Knoll district, the Y3 Chardonnay is fresh and floral with a light creamy accent. A melange of delicate pear, golden apple are underlied by a light vanilla oak. Complex and balanced with light malolactic fermentation.

Sourced from an Andy Beckstoffer vineyard in Carneros and made by Kirk Venge. Mineral driven, but with a wild honey infusion. Crisp and perfectly ripe apple, crushed rock, lemongrass, and orange blossom, with a citrus tinge. Superb value. Anything but Chardonnay, my ass.

Pale straw color with greenish hue. Green apple, pear, limestone, pineapple, and a bit of tropical fruit note. Crisp and tart on the palate, taste of cucumber, sea salt, and peach. Simple and refreshing. Good for a hot humid summer day.
