A fantastic buy A fantastic new release from one of our favorite boutique producers in Santa Barbara. Limited. previous vintage 92 Points Robert Parker: "Another great vintage for this cuvee, which is no shock coming from this terrific estate, the Syrah from Santa Barbara County offers fabulous blackberry, crushed rock and peppery aromas and flavors in a full-bodied, ripe, sexy and textured package. It has terrific purity and a great finish, and should drink nicely for at least 4-5 years, probably longer. Note, the 2014 includes 10% Petite Sirah and spent nine months in neutral oak. Buy a case." 91 Points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A delicious appellation-level wine, the Syrah (Santa Barbara County) is a great introduction to the Jaffurs wines. Dark red cherry and plum fruit make a strong first impression. Drink this flavorful, juicy Syrah over the next handful of years. This is a flat-out delicious bottle of wine. Vineyard sources are Larner, Stolpman, Bien Nacido, Thompson and Kimsey."

Woof. Obviously young drinking in 2018, but so fruit forward swimming in rich velvet tannins it doesn’t really matter. CA central coast wins again in the price-to-flavor department. I’m thinking 2022 for this vintage to peak. Would recommend 2020-2025.
