Immortal Estate Slope Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

$74.99

New release from the former Hiodden Ridge winery re-baptised Immortal Estate! 97+ Points Robert Parker: "As for the 2014s, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Slope from the Hidden Ridge vineyard does not suffer in comparison with the extraordinary efforts of 2013. Still a barrel sample, its riveting richness, concentration, texture and density represent another legend in the making. Crème de cassis, licorice, blackberry, earthiness and spice are all present in this magnificent example of Cabernet Sauvignon that should age beautifully for 25-30+ years... ...When I first started doing my centralized tastings of the many wineries that I could not possibly have time to visit, one of the remarkable standouts for Cabernet Sauvignon was Hidden Ridge. These are clearly world-class Cabernet Sauvignons and should be considered by any serious collector for their cellars."

Celebrating a birthday tonight at an Indian restaurant. Excellent wine! Holding up well and tasting great! Hoping I have more. (Edit): I just noticed that we celebrated this birthday 3 years ago with the same wine…what are the chances??

I tasted their higher priced bottling several years ago that I really enjoyed so when this popped up on Wine Access I jumped on it. So sad that I didn’t order a case as this is a delicious wine. Celebrating a birthday out on the town for a change.

Good solid Cabernet with all the fruit and proper restraint. Some gravelly and earthy tones keep this in check nicely. Ready to drink, but give it 10-15mins in the glass to really enjoy. Paired with leftovers from a block of rump roast.
