Hourglass Estate Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Rare new Sauvignon Blanc from Hourglass. Highly recommended The 2019 Hourglass is no ordinary California Sauvignon Blanc; it is more akin to a white Bordeaux with its texture, integrated, expressive fruit, and dry, limestone accent. Primary aromas of Honeydew melon, Meyer lemon zest and peach blossom with bright notes of Granny Smith apple, spearmint and fresh cut hay. On the palate, limeade, lemon meringue and Pippin apple intertwine with notes of brioche, honey and chamomile flowers. The addition of 5% Semillon, along with judicious barrel fermentation and frequent lees stirring, create beautiful texture and depth, with bright acidity and chalky minerality providing precision and balance on the long, lively finish.

The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is bright and crisp. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint, orchard fruit and tomato leaf are nicely delineated. As always a favorite Napa S.B. Not sure about the reduced price on this at my local wine grocery store. But okay! Always rooting for a positive rendition of this wine w/o full knowledge of Hourglass notoriety!

I have always enjoyed this luscious SB! Local store seems to be getting a steady supply. I have retrieved 16's 18's and now the 2019! Four to five yrs. age on this is amazing! Also fantastic tasting this 2019..so crisp and refreshing. Loads of lemon, white flowers, grass, spearmint, razor sharp acidity...the 14.1 alc. Is hiding in there! Great job @Anthony Biagi
